House panel threatens arrest warrant against Dangote.

A House of Representatives committee investigating the rise in cement prices has threatened to issue warrants of arrest against Dangote Cement’s management for refusing to honor their invitation. The committee, chaired by Jonathan Gaza, warned that the company must comply or face the consequences under section 89 of the Nigerian constitution.

During a session at the National Assembly, Gaza emphasized the importance of accountability and issued a final warning to Dangote Cement. The committee stressed that no individual or company is above the law, emphasizing the need for transparency and cooperation.

In another meeting, lawmakers called on the government to address the escalating cost of living, citing the impact on Nigerians. They demanded explanations from key officials on measures being taken to improve the economic situation, particularly in terms of security and food prices.

The House session highlighted the urgency of addressing the challenges facing Nigerians, with prices of essential goods soaring and putting citizens in a vulnerable position. The government was called upon to take decisive action to alleviate the burden on the population.
