Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is set to address North Macedonia provocations and the observance of the Prespa Agreement at the upcoming NATO Summit in Washington. He has expressed concerns over North Macedonia’s new leadership not adhering to the name agreement, which has strained relations with Greece.
Mitsotakis plans to discuss this issue at the summit along with other key topics such as NATO’s defense capabilities, support for Ukraine, and cooperation with partner countries like the EU. The summit, scheduled for July 9-11, will also confirm Mark Rutte as NATO’s new secretary-general and include discussions on strengthening the Alliance.
With 32 allies now in attendance after Finland and Sweden’s recent accession, the summit will cover various security challenges, including terrorism and illegal immigration. Mitsotakis’s participation in the event aims to address these pressing issues and ensure NATO’s continued cooperation with its partners in the ever-evolving global landscape.
