Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly presented a government statement outlining efforts to boost Egyptian exports and attract more tourists during a session at the House of Representatives.
The government aims to increase export growth by over 15% annually by focusing on stimulating commodity and petroleum exports, as well as service exports. Additionally, they are closely monitoring the agricultural sector, aiming to expand it through horizontal expansion and utilizing new reclaimed lands in desert areas.
Madbouly highlighted plans to implement contract farming for agricultural crops, develop new crop varieties with higher productivity and climate resilience, and improve the agricultural sector’s overall profitability.
30 million tourists by 2028
In order to attract 30 million tourists by 2028, the government is concentrating on enhancing the tourism sector’s competitiveness and sustainability. Strategies include improving tourism infrastructure, upgrading service quality, and diversifying cultural, recreational, and environmental activities offered to tourists.
The government also intends to promote Egypt as a global tourist destination through international marketing campaigns and participation in key tourism exhibitions.
Ultimately, these initiatives are expected to boost the national economy, create more job opportunities, and increase national income.
Additionally, the government aspires to position Egypt as a global hub for logistics and trade by developing integrated international logistics centers next to sea ports and establishing seven integrated logistics corridors to connect production areas with sea ports efficiently and securely.
