Doda Encounter & Widened Search after Kathua Attack; NIA to Aid J-K Police

A fresh encounter between security forces and terrorists in Doda district led to a widening search for those behind the deadly attack in Kathua that claimed five soldiers’ lives. The NIA was brought in, special forces were deployed, and the hunt for the perpetrators intensified.

Director General of Police R R Swain oversaw operations in Kathua’s remote Machedi region.

Special Forces were deployed in Udhampur and Kathua districts for surgical operations against militants, while a gunfight erupted in Doda following intelligence on three foreign terrorists.

The search extended to Ghadi Bhagwah forest after the deadly ambush in Lohai Malhar, adding to the escalating security measures.

The fallen soldiers were honored as investigations into the attacks on Army patrols in the region continued. The heightened presence of foreign militants prompted stringent security actions.

The joint operation involving Army, police, and CRPF aimed to neutralize the threat posed by militants in the area, as NIA’s assistance was sought for the investigations.
