US President Joe Biden strongly condemned the recent Russian missile strikes in Ukraine, calling them a “horrific reminder of Russia’s brutality”. At least 41 people were killed, with 166 others injured, including children in a hospital in Kyiv. As Biden prepares to host a Nato summit, he pledged to enhance Kyiv’s air defences, announcing further measures at the meeting.
The summit will focus on defence and deterrence in light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with Biden reaffirming unwavering support for Ukraine. Amid escalating tensions, UN Secretary General and Western officials joined in condemning Russia’s aggression.
In response, Ukrainian President Zelensky called the attacks “brutal” and accused Russian President Putin of being a “bloody criminal”. The UK’s new Prime Minister also denounced the violence, emphasizing continued support for Ukraine.
As the situation escalates, the international community continues to grapple with the ongoing crisis, underscoring the urgent need for diplomatic solutions to prevent further loss of life.
