A tragic incident unfolded in Sydney’s west today as a young woman was fatally stabbed in Kingswood, a suburb of Penrith.
Police rushed to the scene on the Great Western Highway in response to a distress call just before 2pm, where they found the victim, believed to be in her 20s, with two stab wounds to her chest. Despite efforts by paramedics to save her, she did not survive.
The victim’s identity is yet to be confirmed, and authorities are searching for a 22-year-old male suspect who was reportedly seen fleeing the area.
Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat, and a crime scene has been secured as investigations continue into this tragic event.
