Presidential Election Results Confirmed:

The Constitutional Council has officially confirmed Masoud Pezeshkian’s victory over Saeed Jalili in the recent presidential runoff election. Pezeshkian received 16.4 million votes, while Jalili secured 13.5 million votes. Pezeshkian will succeed the late Ebrahim Raeisi as the new president.

Transition Protocol for President-Elect:

Following the validation of his election, Pezeshkian will meet Ayatollah Khamenei for counsel and guidance. He will then participate in the inauguration ceremony, where he will take an oath of office and officially become the new president. The formation of his cabinet and presentation of ministerial candidates to parliament will follow.

Future Plans and Contingency Measures:

The inauguration ceremony is expected to take place in early August, with the announcement of the new cabinet shortly after. In case of unforeseen circumstances, such as the prolonged absence of the president, the duties will be assumed by the first vice president, Mohammad Mokhber, under the endorsement of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
