Volt Singapore, a unit of Keppel Infrastructure, is set to build Southeast Asia’s largest electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging hub in Singapore. The hub will feature 80 charging points for various EVs, aiming to boost the city’s sustainable transportation infrastructure. Partnering with Wanbang Digital Energy, Keppel Infrastructure is committed to supporting Singapore’s Green Plan 2030, which includes phasing out internal combustion engine vehicles by 2040 and installing 60,000 EV charging points by 2030.
The project aligns with these goals and enhances the city’s sustainable urbanization efforts. With over 200 charging points already established at key locations, Volt Singapore is expanding to improve the accessibility and reliability of EV charging infrastructure throughout the city-state. The project is part of a broader strategy to meet the increasing demand for EV infrastructure as more drivers transition to electric vehicles.
Transition to Electric Vehicles (EVs) in Singapore
As EVs continue to gain popularity in Singapore, companies like ComfortDelGro and Grab are committing to transitioning their fleets to cleaner-energy vehicles. Volt’s initiative not only supports Singapore’s environmental objectives but also sets a standard for other countries in Southeast Asia. By offering more charging options, Volt helps alleviate range anxiety, making the switch to electric vehicles easier for both individuals and businesses.
