Serbian Embassy in BiH Notifies Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cadet Arrival

Recently, the Serbian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the participation of cadets from the Military and Police Academy in the commemoration of the Battle of Kozara’s 82nd anniversary. This event sparked controversy, with BiH Presidency member Zeljko Komsic questioning the presence of the Serbian Army on BiH territory.

In response, Deputy Minister of Defense Aleksandar Goganovic clarified that the parade in Prijedor featured cadets, not Serbian Army members, as part of an agreement between the Ministries of Labor and Veterans’ Disability Protection of Republika Srpska and the Republic of Serbia. Despite the clarification, tensions remain high over the issue.

Overall, the incident highlights the delicate balance of historical and political sensitivities in the region, as well as the need for clear communication and cooperation between neighboring countries.
