The Ramtha Criminal Court has recently issued harsher sentences for five habitual offenders, increasing their punishment to up to six years of hard labor. Among their crimes were theft of telephone line wire and burglaries at various establishments using counterfeit keys.
The court found the first defendant guilty of stealing 800 meters of electricity cable, increasing his sentence to six years due to his repeat offender status under Article 101/1 of the Penal Code. Similar increases were made for the other defendants based on their criminal records.
These stricter sentences signify the court’s dedication to tackling crime, reducing repeat offenses, and enhancing deterrence within the community. By holding habitual offenders accountable for their actions, the court aims to promote a safer and more secure environment for all residents.
