Mumbai faced significant disruptions, with railway tracks submerged and train services delayed. An ‘orange’ alert was issued for coastal areas due to the forecast of heavy rains.
In light of the situation, calls were made to extend the monsoon session. The legislative council was also adjourned, with the state government directed to address the Worli hit-and-run incident. The unfortunate incident involved a woman fatally knocked down by a speeding BMW car, leading to two arrests.
