Kim Jong Un’s sister denounces South’s drills

Kim Yo Jong, the powerful sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, has condemned South Korea’s recent firing drills near the border as “suicidal hysteria” and an “inexcusable and explicit provocation.” She warned of military action if further provoked, labeling South Korea as “the enemy.”

The South Korean military has resumed live-fire artillery exercises near the tense western maritime border, a first since 2018. In response, North Korea has threatened decisive military action if it deems its sovereignty to be violated.

Accusing South Korea’s government of using tensions to distract from internal problems, Kim Yo Jong referenced an online petition for President Yoon Suk Yeol’s impeachment with over a million signatures. She claims the administration is escalating tensions to mask its ruling crisis.
