Groupe ADP, which operates Paris’ main airports, faced a strike on May 19 with limited disruption. As Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports will be crucial entry points for Olympic visitors, a new temporary oversized baggage terminal at Charles de Gaulle will accommodate athletes’ equipment like kayaks and bikes.
Across France’s public sector, workers are seeking additional compensation for working during the Olympics, coinciding with the traditional summer holiday period. Police, air traffic controllers, and other essential workers have also presented demands, increasing pressure on employers to prevent potential disruptions.
