The Nigerian Police Force confirmed that the suspects in the hijacking of a fuel truck are former officers. The police spokesman, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed this information in a statement on Sunday night. The suspects, including ex-officers Otache Egbe, Abah Solomon, and James Mamah, were apprehended after a successful rescue operation. The investigation resulted in the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and security uniforms.
The police reiterated their commitment to fighting crime, regardless of the perpetrators’ backgrounds. The apprehended suspects have confessed to their crimes and are under investigation, with efforts ongoing to recover the stolen fuel. They will face prosecution in court soon.
IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun emphasized the Force’s determination to collaborate with stakeholders in combating crime. He warned criminals of the inevitable consequences and urged the public to support law enforcement efforts for national safety and security.
