ACB initiates inquiry on suspended IPS officer

Shocking allegations have surfaced against suspended IPS officer Quaiser Khalid, prompting the Maharashtra Anti Corruption Bureau to launch an inquiry. The complaint alleges that Khalid accepted bribes while serving as Mumbai railway police commissioner, with money exchanged for granting permission to set up hoardings on railway land.

Khalid, who was subsequently suspended as Additional Director General of Police (PCR), faced criticism for his involvement in approving the Ghatkopar hoarding, which tragically collapsed, resulting in 17 fatalities and 84 injuries. His suspension was linked to administrative oversights and improper authorization practices.
