With the rhythmic sounds of the dhimay jatra festival filling the square, Shrestha invites attendees to witness the beauty of Ranjana Lipi. The therapeutic practice of writing in this script is likened to meditation, offering peace of mind.
Callijatra’s collaboration with Nepal Lipi Guthi has led to the revival of endangered scripts and the inclusion of Ranjana Lipi in school curricula. Through workshops and digital initiatives, these organizations are ensuring the survival of Nepal’s rich heritage.
Artists like Ratan Anand Karna and collaborations with font design studios are amplifying the visibility of Ranjana Lipi internationally. The release of the Nithya Ranjana typeface and plans to teach additional scripts signify a promising future for Nepal’s ancient writing traditions.
