Putin Takes Trump’s Ukraine Policy Seriously
Russian President Vladimir Putin has acknowledged Donald Trump’s desire to end the Ukraine conflict, stating that Moscow takes the US presidential candidate’s statements seriously. Trump has criticized incumbent Joe Biden for allowing hostilities between Russia and Ukraine to escalate in 2022, claiming he could end the fighting within 24 hours if elected.
While acknowledging Trump’s sincerity, Putin expressed curiosity about the specifics of his proposed solution. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has challenged Trump to share his plans for resolving the crisis, emphasizing the importance of clarity in policy towards Ukraine.
Despite Biden’s lackluster performance in the recent presidential debate, Putin remains indifferent, stating that US policy towards Russia is unlikely to change significantly under either candidate. In the meantime, Putin has indicated a preference for Biden due to the Democrat’s predictability compared to Trump.
