Obasanjo unveils book on how Soludo transformed Nigerian banks

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, in an event on Saturday, introduced a book shedding light on how the Soludo-engineered consolidation revolutionized Nigerian banks. The book, titled “The Power of One Man: How The Soludo-Engineered Consolidation Transformed Nigerian Banks to Global Players,” was written by Dr. Ray Echebiri, the CEO of the Centre for Financial Journalism.

During the unveiling ceremony, Obasanjo, represented by former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke, emphasized the importance of collaboration between all sectors of the economy and government to enhance the country’s current situation. He praised Soludo’s leadership and stressed the significance of a holistic approach to driving the nation forward.

Other prominent figures, including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos and Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, expressed the necessity for strategic decision-making in public offices to propel economic growth. The book, reviewed by Mr. Azu Ishiekwene, received accolades for its reflection on pivotal solutions for national progress.

The event, attended by various dignitaries and banking stakeholders, highlighted the transformative impact of the banking consolidation, with Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra recounting the challenges faced during the process. The gathering celebrated the evolution of Nigerian banks into global players and emphasized the need for a visionary mindset to drive future development.
