Dodik questions BiH Defense Minister on helicopter and drone purchases

President Milorad Dodik of Republika Srpska (RS) claps back at Minister Zukan Helez, who recently claimed to have “penicillin for dissociation” while showcasing a drone manufactured in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

Dodik criticizes Helez for his extravagant dreams of helicopters and questions the purpose of buying military equipment for different ethnic groups in BiH. He accuses Helez of disregarding the multi-ethnic and multi-national nature of the country. Dodik’s response comes in light of recent discussions around a ‘peaceful disassociation’ agreement in RS.

Helez, on the other hand, defends the unity of BiH by posting photos and videos of the drone’s flight, emphasizing the eternal nature of the country. The US Embassy in BiH interprets ‘peaceful disassociation’ as secession and threatens sanctions in response.

The heated exchange underscores the ongoing political tensions in the region, with different factions interpreting the situation in their own ways.
