In a recent press conference, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari acknowledged his party’s weak strategy before the budget, failing to ensure the implementation of agreed terms in the power-sharing agreement. He emphasized the importance of consensus among all provinces, particularly regarding the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) allocation.
Bhutto-Zardari highlighted the need for the government to consult both allies and opposition parties in budget planning, criticizing the lack of prior discussion on important issues. Despite reservations, PPP did not obstruct the federal government for public interest.
Addressing taxation measures in the budget, Bhutto-Zardari advocated for rational taxes that do not burden low-income earners disproportionately. He also denied claims of benefiting from elections and dismissed rumors of changing Balochistan’s chief minister.
The PPP leader commended CM Bugti’s reform efforts in Balochistan and announced plans for a state-of-the-art hospital. Furthermore, he urged expedited compensation for 2022 flood victims and emphasized the importance of addressing their housing needs.
In conclusion, Bhutto-Zardari demonstrated PPP’s commitment to the welfare of Balochistan and emphasized collaboration for the province’s development.
