The Armenian Defense Ministry announced that joint military exercises with the U.S. will be held from July 15-25, focusing on peacekeeping operations. The drills, named Eagle Partner 2024, aim to enhance interoperability and prepare units for international peacekeeping missions.

Armenia’s relations with Russia have deteriorated, leading to the country seeking closer ties with the West. After conflicts between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan, Armenia has criticized Russia as an unreliable partner. Yerevan has also expressed interest in joining the EU and provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

US officials are reportedly considering inviting Armenia and Azerbaijan to an upcoming NATO summit, signaling a shift in geopolitical alignments in the region. Armenia’s evolving foreign policy reflects its efforts to diversify alliances and reduce dependence on Russia.
