Amit Shah’s Vision: Co-op Bank & Milk Producers’ Union in Every District

In a bid to boost the cooperative sector, Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah announced the government’s target to establish a cooperative bank and milk producers’ union in each district of the country. Additionally, the plan includes setting up multipurpose primary agriculture credit societies (PACS) in two lakh panchayats lacking cooperative institutions within the next five years.

Speaking at the ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’ programme, Shah praised the Gujarat government for subsidizing Nano-urea and Nano-DAP, emphasizing their role in enhancing production and soil preservation. He highlighted the cooperative sector’s significant contributions to rural and agricultural economies and called for fostering cooperation among cooperative institutions.

Shah outlined the Ministry of Cooperation’s initiatives, such as forming 1100 new Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and launching the National Cooperative Organic Limited (NCOL) to promote organic farming. He also urged financial institutions to support PACS and other cooperatives, enhancing their capital and stability.

The government’s focus on ‘Sahakar se Samriddhi’ aims to uplift 30 crore underprivileged individuals post-Independence, reflecting a vision for prosperity, happiness, and confidence. Shah inaugurated the first Amul organic shop in Delhi, applauding the brand’s commitment to organic agriculture.
