Tinubu meets Edo APC candidate, others in Abuja

President Bola Tinubu recently welcomed the APC governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa, to the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The Edo State APC Chapter showed confidence in winning the governorship seat due to disarray in the ruling PDP party in the state and emphasized the disconnect between the PDP candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo, and the people of Edo State.

With Okpebholo being described as a grassroots politician, the APC believes they have an advantage in the upcoming election. The delegation was led by former governor Adams Oshiomhole and Minister Abubakar Momoh, with discussions focused on campaign updates and strategies to secure victory.

Addressing allegations of interference in PDP’s internal conflicts, Oshiomhole dismissed such claims, highlighting the importance of parties adhering to election rules. Minister Momoh also expressed optimism in the APC’s prospects, particularly in Edo North and Edo Central regions.

Overall, the APC remains confident in their ability to secure the governorship seat, citing internal party dynamics and strong candidate connections as key factors in their favor.
