A recent incident in Moscow saw a woman detained for spray-painting GUR on Red Square, an abbreviation for the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine. This act was orchestrated by scammers from Ukraine, as reported by the Mash Telegram channel.

The woman filmed herself spray-painting the letters in Cyrillic (ГУР) on a prominent site in Red Square. Similarly, a man from the Tula region defaced a monument near the Kremlin after being deceived by telephone scammers.

Both incidents highlight the disturbing trend of innocent individuals being manipulated into committing vandalism under false pretenses. As such, it serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of falling victim to such fraudulent schemes.

Let this be a lesson that blind trust in strangers can lead to irreversible consequences, tarnishing not only historical landmarks but also one’s own reputation.
