Russian President Putin Emphasizes Multipolar World at SCO Meeting

During a recent meeting of the SCO Council of Heads in Astana, Kazakhstan, Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted the reality of a multipolar world. He praised the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS as the main pillars of this emerging new world order, emphasizing the role of these international structures in global development.

Putin commended China’s efforts towards world unity and peace, particularly in the Eurasian region. He also discussed the deepening of mutual cooperation among SCO member states in various sectors such as politics, security, economy, and technology.

Furthermore, Putin underscored the significant economic benefits of close ties within the SCO. He noted the positive impacts on GDP growth, industrial production, and trade turnover among member countries, pointing out the increase in payments in national currencies.

Security remains a top priority for the SCO, with recent decisions aimed at enhancing anti-terrorism and anti-drug measures.
