Orban meets Putin in Moscow

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban arrived in Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss resolving the conflict in Ukraine. As part of a peacekeeping mission, Orban’s visit to Moscow has raised concerns among European diplomats and officials who fear Hungary’s actions may undermine the European Union’s efforts to punish and isolate Russia. Despite these concerns, Orban met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on July 2, where Zelensky declined Orban’s proposals for a ceasefire.
