During the three-hour long meeting, Orban and Putin discussed various issues, including the conflict in Ukraine and bilateral affairs. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov mentioned that the two leaders could have a private conversation if needed, highlighting the openness and transparency of their discussions.
Orban’s visit was reported to NATO authorities by Budapest, and there are hopes to further discuss the outcomes of the meeting at an upcoming summit in Washington. The talks between Orban and Putin were described as frank and open by Putin’s aide, Yuri Ushakov, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic dialogue in resolving conflicts.
