Kazakh Activist Murdered, Buried in Kyiv

Remembering Aydos Sadykov: A Brave Voice Silenced

Family and supporters of Kazakh opposition figure Aydos Sadykov gathered on the outskirts of Kyiv to lay him to rest after his tragic death near his apartment building. Sadykov, a fierce critic of the Kazakh government, was shot by two citizens and left to die in the streets of the Ukrainian capital.

His wife, Natalia Sadykova, mourned the loss of her husband, blaming Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his untimely death. The couple had fled Kazakhstan in 2014 due to threats and harassment from the authorities after reporting on corruption in their home country.

The funeral ceremony was a somber affair, with Sadykov’s coffin draped in the flags of both Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Ukrainian prosecutors are investigating the case as a contract killing orchestrated by a group of people.

The assassination of Aydos Sadykov has sparked outrage and condemnation from human rights organizations, with calls for justice echoing across the globe. His legacy as a fearless advocate for freedom and justice will not be forgotten.

Rest in power, Aydos Sadykov.
