Islamabad police revoke PTI rally permit, warn legal action- Pakistan

The Islamabad Capital Territory police has announced the cancellation of a permit for a political party’s rally on July 6, warning of legal consequences if the law is violated. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) planned a power show in Tarnol, criticizing the delay in obtaining a no-objection certificate from the government. Despite the permit revocation, the PTI vows to proceed with the public gathering, standing by the slogan ‘Qaidi 804 ka Nara, Azadi Haq Hamara’.

Amidst arrests and police actions, the PTI remains determined to hold the rally, emphasizing unity and freedom. However, the police have dismantled rally setups, leading to allegations of illegal interference. Opposition leader Omar Ayub has denounced the cancellation of the permit as an act of fear, vowing to proceed with the rally and threaten legal action against authorities obstructing the event.

Despite the conflicting statements and actions, the events surrounding the planned rally highlight the tensions between the PTI and the authorities in Islamabad, underscoring the ongoing political challenges in the region.
