Summary: The Global Fight Against Corruption

The recent gathering in Vilnius, Lithuania brought together leaders in the fight against corruption. With industry experts, academics, journalists, and global institutions discussing the various aspects of corruption, the event highlighted the detrimental effects of corruption on societies worldwide.
Various measurement mechanisms such as Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) and Index of Public Integrity are used to assess the prevalence of corruption. While discussions revolved around the challenges of addressing corruption, the need for concrete actions and measurable standards was emphasized.
From multinational companies to international institutions, the issue of corruption extends across borders and affects economies globally. The call for stronger implementation of anti-corruption measures, similar to the model of Financial Action Task Force (FATF), was proposed to combat the deep-rooted issue of corruption.
With a focus on monitoring, compliance, and enforcement, a united effort involving governments, civil society, academia, and investigative journalists is essential to tackle corruption effectively. By addressing the gaps in existing systems and taking decisive action, the global community can work towards a corruption-free future.
