BiH to finish new Highway by Year’s End

The construction of the Bijeljina-Raca highway, funded by the governments of Republika Srpska (RS) and Serbia, is set to be completed by the end of 2025. This project, considered the largest in the region, will benefit not only citizens and businesses in Semberija and Majevica but also those in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH).

The highway section, part of the future Banja Luka-Bijeljina-Belgrade highways, is crucial for economic development. Nedeljko Coric, director of RS Motorways, emphasized the significant investments made by RS and Serbia for the 20-kilometer section.

The highway will alleviate congestion, especially during peak times, serving as a key route for traffic from the east to Western Europe. Additionally, a bridge over the Sava River will connect BiH and Serbia, further enhancing connectivity and economic growth in the region.

Milorad Dodik, president of RS, highlighted the transformative impact of the highway on the region, emphasizing the significant investment made by RS for its construction. The deadline for completion is the end of 2025, marking a milestone in regional infrastructure development.
