Army brass worried about negativity towards Operation Azm-i-Istehkam – Pakistan

The Pakistan military recently announced Operation Azm-i-Istehkam to combat terrorism and extremism in the country, following a surge in terror activities. This operation, part of a series of counterterrorism efforts, aims to leverage various national resources for stability and prosperity.

Despite the government’s assurances that Azm-i-Istehkam will not involve mass displacement or large-scale military operations, opposition parties have criticized the initiative. In response, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) clarified the operation’s goals and stressed unity against external threats.

The 265th Corps Commanders’ Conference highlighted the need for synchronized efforts to dismantle terrorism networks and ensure enduring stability. Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir emphasized the army’s commitment to national security and professionalism.

Additionally, the military reaffirmed support for socioeconomic development and regional peace. The forum condemned human rights violations in Kashmir and Gaza, standing in solidarity with affected populations.
