Amit Shah, Union Home Minister and key BJP leader, is set to review the party’s preparations in Maharashtra ahead of the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections. The focus will be on assessing the relationships with key allies Shiv Sena and NCP, led by Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar respectively.
With a meeting of the BJP’s Maharashtra extended working committee scheduled for July 14 in Pune, Shah will be joined by party ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and Bhupender Yadav to discuss the election strategy.
Following the disappointing results in the Lok Sabha polls, where BJP only secured 17 seats compared to the opposition’s 31, there is a sense of urgency to realign the party’s approach in the state.
The challenge lies in managing seat sharing among the allies, as BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP each bring their own strengths and constraints to the table.
