President Zardari Advocates for Women’s Financial Autonomy and Environmental Conservation
President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the importance of financial autonomy for women and enhancing their access to financial services in a meeting with the Group Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank, Bill Winters. He underscored the significance of economic empowerment for women, stating that it not only strengthens them financially but also uplifts their families and contributes to the national economy. The president urged banks to support women entrepreneurs and increase their representation in the banking sector.
Furthermore, the delegation from Standard Chartered Bank briefed President Zardari on the bank’s contributions to Pakistan’s economy and socio-economic development. The president also highlighted the importance of investing in the climate and agricultural sectors, as well as financing infrastructure projects such as small dams and power plants. He commended the bank for its role in the evolution of the country’s banking sector and expressed hope for its continued contribution to Pakistan’s economy.
