The Malam Darfur Organization for Peace and Development recently concluded a community dialogue and peace conference in Zalingei, Sudan. The theme of the conference was “Activating Civil Society Organizations and Local Administration.” Various discussions and workshops were held, focusing on peace, community security, livelihood opportunities, healthcare, education, and more.
Ahmed Abbas emphasized the urgent need for environmental sanitation programs and improved health conditions due to issues like overcrowding and waste accumulation. The conference recommended establishing a primary healthcare program with mobile clinics to reach remote areas.
Mohammed Mustafa highlighted the challenges in the education sector, including infrastructure destruction and lack of resources. He called for the restoration of educational facilities, teacher training, and psychological support for war-affected children.
Participant Ahmed Adam Ahmed emphasized the importance of community involvement in implementing the conference’s recommendations to ensure long-term success.
