Uzbekistan Proposes Annual “SCO Plus” Dialog on Security Issues

In a meeting of the SCO Plus format in Astana, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev suggested holding an annual “SCO Plus” dialog on security issues. Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of restoring trust, justice, and solidarity in the world, especially amidst global conflicts and economic challenges.

He highlighted the need for a new strategic approach to enhance the effectiveness of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and proposed intensifying efforts to strengthen cooperation within the SCO. Mirziyoyev suggested the creation of a universal center to counter modern threats, such as cyber-attacks and natural disasters.

The SCO Summit, chaired by Kazakhstan, brought together heads of state and government from various countries to discuss key issues. Mirziyoyev’s proposal for an annual SCO Plus dialog aims to foster collaboration and address security challenges collectively.
