Turkish Security Forces Destroy More Than 30 PKK Targets in Northern Iraq
Turkish security forces conducted an air operation in northern Iraq targeting PKK terror group’s strongholds in multiple regions. As part of their legitimate self-defense rights, the operation aimed to neutralize terrorists, prevent attacks on local people, enhance border security, and safeguard historical and cultural assets.
Using domestically produced ammunition, security forces destroyed 37 targets comprising caves, shelters, and hideouts, while also neutralizing many terrorists. The operation prioritized the protection of innocent civilians and the environment.
The PKK, a designated terrorist organization, utilizes northern Iraq as a base for launching attacks on Turkey and neighboring regions. Over the years, the group has caused significant casualties, including women and children.
By undertaking targeted operations, Turkish authorities seek to eliminate the PKK threat and ensure the safety of all citizens. Such actions are crucial in countering terrorism and maintaining peace in the region.
