During the SCO Plus format meeting in Astana, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon extended an invitation to SCO member states and partners to join a new system of cargo transportation permits. Highlighting the importance of collaboration in the economic sphere, Rahmon emphasized the need for joint projects focusing on high technology, innovation, artificial intelligence, agriculture, and investment.

The president also invited observer states and dialogue partners to make use of opportunities provided by the SCO Business Council and Interbank Consortium. He stressed the significance of cooperation in the transport and energy sectors, citing the development of international transport and transit corridors within the region.

Rahmon pointed out the 2014 agreement in Dushanbe, providing a legal framework for transportation infrastructure in the SCO. The introduction of a new system for cargo transportation permits along these routes was also highlighted, open to all interested parties.

The SCO Summit, chaired by Kazakhstan, saw participation from heads of state and government from various countries, as well as international organizations. This meeting marks the first time the event is held in the form of a Council of Heads of State of the SCO member states and the SCO Plus.
