The Future of Media: New Information Law Draft in Syria

The Minister of Information, Dr. Boutros Al-Hallaq, emphasized the significance of the new information law draft in Syria, which is currently in the approval process. This draft is a result of collaborative institutional work that caters to the needs of media professionals, paving the way for advancements in media work and providing protection for journalists working in national media institutions.

During a dialogue meeting with media professionals in Lattakia province, Minister Al-Hallaq highlighted the importance of professional journalism and the role it plays in providing accurate information to the public. He also discussed the efforts to establish partnerships with the private sector to create new job opportunities and solve existing challenges in the media sector.

The ongoing discussions around the media law are focused on ensuring independence, freedom of access to information, and protecting public opinion from misinformation.
