The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has made a promise to reinstate the Paramount Chief of Piriga in the Lere Local Government Area of the state, Chief Jonathan Zamuna, who was previously dethroned by his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai. Sani announced this decision while addressing traditional rulers, stating that he would abide by the ruling of the Industrial Court of Nigeria, which overturned Zamuna’s removal.
Chief Zamuna had challenged his removal in court, and Justice Bashar Alkali ruled in his favor, ordering the government to reinstate him and provide all the necessary financial compensations within 30 days of the judgment.
Sani emphasized his respect for the rule of law and traditional values, expressing his commitment to upholding the court’s decision. He also welcomed further engagement with traditional rulers for the development and security of the state, extending his condolences to the Kaduna State Council of Chiefs on the passing of Chief Tagwai Sambo. Sani reiterated that leadership is crucial in addressing Nigeria’s challenges and acknowledged the importance of traditional leadership in this process.
