Two kamikaze watercraft were intercepted while attempting to reach the port of Novorossiysk, as reported by the Defense Ministry. The Russian Navy successfully stopped two Ukrainian naval unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) that were deployed to attack the port. The boats were halted overnight by assets at the naval base in the city on the Black Sea coast.
In response to the incident, city officials closed off the area near the embankment, although only minor damage was reported to properties with no casualties. A video released by the ministry shows the intense fire directed at the trespassing boats, with one of them catching fire and detonating its cargo.
As a precaution, the military plans to conduct a drill at the harbor to train troops on engaging enemy drones. Novorossiysk serves as a backup base for the Russian Black Sea Fleet, with Sevastopol in Crimea being its primary home port.
