A Closer Look at Global Issues: President Zhaparov Highlights SCO Cooperation
In a recent meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State in Astana, Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the importance of close cooperation to tackle global issues such as terrorism, cyber threats, and international crime.
Zhaparov commended Kyrgyzstan’s plan to establish a center in Bishkek to combat international organized crime. He also acknowledged the SCO’s efforts towards building a stable, secure, and prosperous region, highlighting the organization’s increased cooperation potential.
The SCO Summit, chaired by Kazakhstan, saw Belarus achieving full membership status. The event brought together leaders from various countries, along with representatives from international organizations, marking a significant milestone in addressing shared challenges.
This summit, held in the format of a “Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of SCO Member States” and a SCO Plus meeting, underscored the collective commitment to promoting unity and mutual understanding.
