The Kano State Government has taken a significant step towards completing the abandoned five-kilometre road projects across the 44 local government areas. Governor Abba Yusuf has ordered the immediate release of funds to contractors, along with resolving pending compensation issues, to ensure the projects move forward. This decision comes after a meeting with the contractors at the Government House.
Originally initiated by former governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, the rural network road projects were left unfinished for unexplained reasons, drawing criticism during the previous administration. Governor Yusuf also emphasized the release of upfront payments and strategic monthly payments to prevent further delays due to escalating construction material prices.
