The Impact of Israeli Captives’ Treatment on Palestinian Resistance Fighters
Since Palestinian resistance fighters started treating Israeli captives the same way Israel treated Palestinians, some captives have attempted suicide. The armed wing of the Palestinian movement Islamic Jihad, al-Quds Brigades, expressed frustration in a recent statement over the neglect and inhumane treatment of Israeli captives by the Israeli regime.
This treatment follows the killing of more than 270 Palestinians in the Nuseirat refugee camp during an Israeli raid to free four Israeli captives. Abu Hamza, spokesman for al-Quds Brigades, holds Benjamin Netanyahu responsible for the declining health of Israeli captives and demands action to secure their release.
Meanwhile, Israeli protesters are calling for Netanyahu to strike a deal with Hamas to end the ongoing conflict. Israel’s military campaign in Gaza has caused significant devastation, with tens of thousands of Palestinians killed and widespread displacement. The UN reports a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, accusing Israel of genocidal actions.
As tensions continue to rise, the call for justice and humane treatment of captives remains a priority for both sides in the conflict.
