Israeli Alerts Triggered Following Hezbollah Commander’s Assassination
Nearly a day after the assassination of Hezbollah’s Aziz Regional Division commander, Muhammad Neamah Nasser, in an Israeli airstrike, northern Israel was put on high alert Thursday morning. The region experienced consecutive rocket and drone barrages, activating sirens in various towns and villages.
The initial salvo of approximately 15 rockets targeted Upper Galilee, with most projectiles landing in unpopulated areas and some intercepted by air defense systems. Israeli artillery retaliated by striking the village of Odaisseh in southern Lebanon.
Furthermore, suspected hostile aircraft intrusions led to alerts in locations deep within Israeli territory, including the Hula Valley and the Western Galilee. The alerts extended to the Golan Heights, with sirens warning of potential aircraft intrusions and rocket threats.
The intense 40-minute barrage involving drones and rockets kept the region on edge, with Nahal Oz in the Gaza border area also experiencing alarm.
