Gaza Death Toll Soars Beyond 38,000, Health Ministry Reports

In a breaking update, the Health Ministry in Gaza reported a staggering death toll of over 38,000 Palestinians after nearly nine months of war. The fighting has also left more than 87,000 people wounded, with many casualties being women and children.

Amidst diplomatic efforts to end the conflict, Israel’s Cabinet was set to convene to discuss a U.S.-backed proposal for a phased cease-fire in Gaza. Meanwhile, clashes between Israel and Hezbollah have escalated, threatening a more devastating war in the Middle East.

Hamas has sent a response to proposed amendments without revealing specifics, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu raises doubts on the plan’s effectiveness. The U.S. administration is examining the response, seeking to bridge the gap between the two sides for a lasting truce.

As negotiations continue, Hamas has neither accepted nor rejected the American proposal but is working on ideas to reach a compromise. The proposed three-phase deal aims to achieve a cease-fire, release hostages, and ensure sustained calm in Gaza.

With concerns over the transition between phases, both sides remain cautious, aiming to avoid a resurgence of war. The ongoing conflict has caused immense destruction, displacement, and humanitarian crisis in the region.
