Foundation work on all bullet train stations in Gujarat done.

India’s first bullet train, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR), is making significant progress in Gujarat. The foundation work for all eight stations in the state has been completed, with different phases of development in each location. The project includes two depots in Surat and Sabarmati, where structural work is taking place.

The bullet train will cover parts of Gujarat and Maharashtra through Dadra and Nagar Haveli, with a total length of 508 km and 12 stations. The project will also introduce the innovative J-Slab track system, based on the Japanese Shinkansen track system, a first in India.

With construction underway since September 2017 and expected to be completed by December 2023, the project is estimated to cost around Rs 1 lakh crore. The government of Japan is funding 81% of the project, with the remaining equity provided by the Government of India, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

The development of the bullet train will not only enhance connectivity but also showcase cutting-edge technology in the Indian rail network. Stay tuned for updates on this groundbreaking project.\
