FCT police thwart Abuja kidnapping ring in 80 characters

Federal Capital Territory Police Bust Kidnapping Ring

In a recent operation, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command successfully busted a notorious kidnapping ring that had been causing chaos in the outskirts of the capital city. The city has been facing increased threats from kidnappers and armed robbers, putting residents in fear.

SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson of the command, confirmed the arrest of five kidnappers who were responsible for a recent abduction in Gwagwa. The suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Utako division during a two-day operation based on credible intelligence.

The arrested individuals, including Umar Abdullahi, Likita Abubakar, Salisu Sani, Sabiu Mohammed, and Aliyu Suleiman, were found in possession of weapons and confessed to their involvement in the kidnapping and other crimes in the capital. The police recovered four AK-47 rifles, a Dane gun, two magazines, and eight live ammunition from the suspects.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, emphasized the commitment of the command to ensuring the safety of residents and urged the public to remain vigilant. With the arrests of these criminals, the FCT police are taking strong measures to combat criminal activities in the area.
