Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly recently announced Egypt’s new cabinet, consisting of 30 ministers with a focus on economic portfolios. The reshuffle included merging some ministries and introducing new ones, such as the ministry of finance led by Ahmed Kouchouk.
Former ministries like foreign affairs, finance, supply, petroleum, electricity, and tourism were among the 17 ministries affected by the changes. Notable appointments include Badr Abdelatty as the head of the merged ministries of foreign affairs and emigration, and Sherif Farouk as minister of supply and internal trade.
President al-Sisi appointed Abdel-Maguid Sakr as the new minister of defense and military production. The government’s top priority is to address rising prices and unemployment, as stated by al-Sisi in a recent speech.
This marks the fourth cabinet reshuffle under Prime Minister Madbouly’s leadership. The new ministers are expected to tackle economic challenges and implement reforms to improve the lives of Egyptians.
