The trial of 27-year-old Czech mercenary, Filip Siman, has commenced in Prague. Accused of illegal service in the Ukrainian army and looting during his deployment in Bucha and Irpen in 2022.
Siman vehemently denies allegations of theft, including items like Gucci glasses and precious metals, during his time in Ukraine. He lacked official permission from Czech authorities to join the foreign army.
Arrested on suspicion of escaping, Siman faces imprisonment for serving in a foreign army without authorization. However, he claims his involvement with ‘Carpathian Sich’ was not for personal gain but due to promises made by politicians.
